During the course selected aspects of modern X-ray structural analysis are presented. The scope includes theory and practice of structural analysis of variety of monocrystalline samples: inorganic or organic or bioorganic (proteins and other biologically important macromolecules). A short review of related scientific equipment and supplementary labware will be given. Students are asked to prepare their own reports containg scientific description of a structure given individually in a form of Crystallographic Information File.

Selected subject of widely understood materials technologies will be presented. Among others, the topics include: Materials technologies, science and engineering Impedance spectroscopy for materials characterisation. Modern techniques for the synthesis of amorphous materials CVD and PVD technologies Electron microscopy for materials characterisation Selected issues of glass and glass-ceramics technology
