When I was in my first semester of graduate school, my boyfriend lived with me. I had a huge workload and yes it was hard writing papers, while he was watching tv or wanting to do something with me. I cannot write papers with noise and he was almost always watching tv while I was trying to write a paper. There were definitely times where I had to tell him, look leave me alone until I say I’m done writing this paper. There were times he skipped his morning class so he could stay in bed with me longer. Simply for these reasons alone I would not recommend living together while still in college. Yes, I did graduate and get a job, but if I could go back in time, I would not have allowed him to move in with me.

To the first writer: I moved in with my college boyfriend my junior year of college. We had been together six months, and continued dating til the end of college. Here was the issue: It is hard enough to be in college, figuring out the ins and outs of an adult relationship, and learning to be independent while also learning to be codependent. In the end, it hurt our relationship, and I broke up with him after graduating. I am sure that living together made it harder for us to mature seperately and work through our own issues without negatively projecting them onto each other.
In short, if you do this, be ready for a bumpy road and potential problems overflowing into school and social areas.
