The course is designed to deliver to students knowledge on transmission channel used in radio communication systems and the methodology of its measurements and modelling.

- Overview of radio communication services and systems.
- Characteristics of radio channel and radio frequency bands.
- Radio waves propagation mechanisms.
- Role of the antenna in radio communication system.
- Link equation and link budget.
- The effect of the atmosphere.
- Propagation of radio waves in different environments.
- Multipath phenomenon and Doppler effect.
- Slow and fast fading phenomena.
- Diversity.
- Radio channel modelling.
- Instrumentation for radio communication systems.
- Radio channel measurements methodology.
- Statistical analysis of radio channel measurements.
