Drawing classes for first-year students of the Faculty of Architecture are aimed at developing basic drawing skills (learning composition, studying proportions, directions and contrasts, mutual relations of objects and chiaroscuro problems) based on the following topics: still life sketches, still life study, figure sketches in motion, character study. Classes are based on the observation of nature, which is an important element of the study of space and form. Students have still lifes at their disposal. They produce sketch and studio drawings. Based on observations, students learn to master drawing in accordance with the principles of proportion, construction and perspective. They learn how to use line, stain and chiaroscuro. Students create conceptual sketches, which are the starting point for studio work. Each exercise is preceded by a discussion of the topic and a short lecture. Students become familiar with basic concepts related to drawing, such as: line, stain, space, form, light, shadow, contrast. They understand the concepts: statics, dynamics, balance, expression. Students will learn the drawing technique using a stick and black ink.
