The course History of World Architecture I (HWA I) is obligatory on the first semester of study at the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology. It lasts 15 weeks , finishes with the exam and consists of 15 two-hour lectures and 15 two-hour exercises.
The merit of the course includes the Western World architecture, beginning from Prehistory and Antiquity (Sumer, Egypt, Greece, Rome), up to the end of the Middle Ages. The aim of the course is to acknowledge students with the chronology, styles, development of architectural forms and masters of architecture of those times.
In the winter semester of the academic year 2022-2023 the lectures and the exercises will be delivered at the University, according to the Schedule. Every one of the 15 exercises will be finished during two-hour exercise and will be given to the teacher for evaluation. The exercises are performer in a form of a HAND DRAWING, at the A3 paper, with use of a pen (or a ball-pen) not a pencil!
The sketch-notes from the lectures should be done in the notebook format A4 then completed at home from literature. After the semester the notebook will be evaluated.
