There are many tough jobs in the world, some requiring physical exertion, some mental and some, as in this case, the renunciation of certain values. It's known that headhunting is one of the most effective methods of acquiring the best employees for a given position. If something is capable of recruiting the best employees in its field, it's almost certain that it must be costly, not only financially.
In my opinion, the image of the a company may suffer from this, the competition, which has been robbed of a good employee, will almost certainly somehow try to make life difficult for a the company using this method. They may also want to take revenge by taking away a key employee.
To sum up, this method has its advantages and disadvantages, but one thing that distinguishes it's absolute but effective. (??)
