      * application of probabilistic design in engineering standards (various levels) 
      * historic overview of design methodologies incorporating uncertainty 
      * random modelling of structural parameters
      * engineering case studies of structural reliability assessment 

      * numerical tools to support probabilistic methods - Monte Carlo simulation variants 

      * variance-reduction techniques in reliability assessment
      * extreme-value random variables and their application
      * plate and shell structures - analysis incorporating parameter uncertainty
      * thermal actions on structures and their components, uncertainty modelling 
      * reliability due to earthquake and corrosion 

      * reliability and redundancy analysis of structural systems
